Kennedy Brown relieved to commit to Lobos before senior season

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Volcano Vista’s Kennedy Brown is a state champ in soccer and basketball – and this time next fall she’ll be suiting up with Lobo soccer.

Brown and her teammate Mercedes Morris are committing to the University of New Mexico, joining three other VVHS alumni.

"At the end of the day UNM was always my number one option and that’s always where I wanted to go if I ever got the chance to. I went to every single one of their home games, and I watched their NCAA games online. It’s awesome being able to watch them since they’re so successful. And I have a lot of friends that went to Volcano that committed there, so I mean of course they’re helping me through the process," said Brown.

Brown plans to major in nursing at UNM.

The Hawks kick off the metro tournament on Aug. 26.
