ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The UNM men’s basketball team will look to nab some transfers for next season.

As of Monday morning, there were nearly 1,000 players in the transfer portal.

UNM basketball coach Richard Pitino has said there will be plenty of players available to get the Lobos up to speed in a hurry.

Josh Baker, a junior college transfer guard, and Mason Madsen, a guard from Xavier, have heard from UNM.

"All options are open, and I think we know a lot of these players because there’s so many transfers and there’s a lot of kids that you recruited and you didn’t get. The biggest thing whether you play for me or not, what do I think it’s gonna be the best fit for New Mexico and what’s gonna be the best fit for this roster," Pitino said.
