Man arrested, charged for deadly stabbing in SE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Police arrested and charged a 60-year-old man for a deadly stabbing in southeast Albuquerque.

William Nofsinger was arrested and charged for fatally stabbing a man Wednesday during a fight at the Sunport Plaza apartments.

Nofsinger claimed he stabbed the man in self-defense but detectives determined his version of events was not consistent with the victim’s stab wounds. The victim was stabbed at least 15 times and suffered a large, deep cut to his throat.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

Nofsinger reportedly stayed on scene after the stabbing occurred. He has been booked into Metro Detention Center and charged with an open count of murder
