Metro teams win three state titles on Championship Saturday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — This year, the state basketball tourney had some unforgettable moments.
Three blue trophies were raised by metro teams on Saturday.
The Volcano Vista girl’s basketball team won state thanks to a legendary shot by Natalia Chavez.
Chavez knocked down a half court buzzer beater in overtime to beat Hobbs.
This was the first title for the Hawks since 2016.
Cleveland and Del Norte boy’s basketball earned their first state titles in program history.
The Storm outlasted Las Cruces in the 5A category, and the Knights pulled away from Artesia to win in 4A.
