ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Danny Aldaz, a former Albuquerque Public Schools teacher, is now accused of sexually abusing five children following a new grand jury indictment last week. The new indictment includes a list of 32 charges.

Last August, 4 Investigates took a closer look at the Aldaz case. The investigation revealed there were some red flags that appeared to have been ignored.

Aldaz, who used to teach second grade, has been in custody for months. Three girls told investigators that he used an area blocked off by a filing cabinet and a red blanket to sexually abuse them.

On Monday, prosecutors asked for Aldaz to remain in jail under the new indictment and the judge agreed.

"The motion for pretrial detention has been granted," the judge said. "The defendant will continue to be held without bond and without CCP at this time."
