Paul Weir gets new coaching gig

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Former UNM Head Basketball Coach Paul Weir is returning to the sidelines.
Weir will coach Canada’s U-19 National Team for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Weir spent the last four years coaching UNM.
He parted ways with the Lobos after the 2020-2021 season. However, he said he still wants the program to do well.
"As far as the Lobo basketball team goes, this message may be different than other ex coaching experiences. You’re not gonna find a bigger fan than me," Weir said.
