Police capture escaped Chaves County jail inmate

ROSWELL, N.M. – Police captured a man who on Sunday escaped from the Chaves County Detention Center.

Daniel Cobos, 37, was taken back into custody after a six-hour standoff late Monday night at a house north of Roswell. According to Chaves County deputies, Cobos was found with a gun and refused to adhere to their commands. He was eventually taken into custody after being tased.

Cobos escaped from jail late Sunday.
