ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Tamara Lopez joined KOB 4 as the Roswell Bureau reporter in March 2021. Tamara covers news for all of southeastern New Mexico.
Tamara is a New Mexican native. She is from Gallup, and graduated from UNM in 2018 with a degree in multimedia journalism. Go Lobos! While in college, she interned with LoboTV, where she got a front-row seat, filming for all the Lobo games. She also spent two summers working with the Albuquerque Isotopes camera crew. During that time, she also spent time working at KOB 4 on production, where she got to intern with KOB 4 sports.
Prior to arriving at KOB 4, Tamara worked at The Delta News in Greenville, Mississippi as the weekend and later morning anchor. There, she got to cover hurricanes and tornadoes. She also covered the historic decision to change Mississippi’s state flag and the 2020 presidential election. The Mississippi Delta taught her all about music, where she even got to interview the legendary Charlie Pride.
Tamara has so many interests. She’s an avid photographer and enjoys anything artistic. She also loves running, her favorite fun run is the Duke City Marathon 5K. And she loves finding the best local food joints so if you have any suggestions for her in southeastern New Mexico, please let her know!
