United’s Rashid Tetteh on life in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- New Mexico United’s Rashid Tetteh has gone on quite the journey to pursue a soccer career.

Tetteh, who was born in Ghana, came to New Mexico after playing soccer in North Carolina.

It was in New Mexico, he said he really learned how to drive.

He said his wife helped him prepare for the test.

"She taught me how to apply for it," he said. "It was a long process but my wife was there to help."

Able to drive, Tetteh feels a connection with New Mexico.

"I have my family here, you know, my baby," he said. "I’m going to be New Mexico forever, Mexico true."
