ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Volcano Vista High School is two weeks away from fall sports kickoff on Aug. 20.

The Volcano Vista Hawks went 2 and 1 in a short spring season.

"Most of our receivers are back we had a few graduate, but for the most part we’re intact,” said Chad Wallin, head football coach.”We got a bunch of our returners back last year we were really really young, so you know I think we’re like everybody else, our young guys were struggling because they just haven’t had football in two years.

The Hawks open up August 20 at Las Cruces.

“These guys have been really energetic and really focused on trying to enjoy something that might not of happened, so very thankful,” said Wallin.
