18-year-old PhD student arrives in America for UNM program

On Friday, KOB 4 aired a profile on Ruth Gyan-Darkwa, an 18-year-old University of New Mexico PhD student who’s pursuing a doctorate in electrical engineering.
Gyan-Darkwa is from Ghana. She arrived in Albuquerque from her home country in October, after her uncle also came to New Mexico.
In the video above, she shares her perspective on the United States, the challenges she faced in her accelerated academic journey, what motivates her and what she envisions for her future.
