ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Fire rescue crews quickly worked to get an abandoned building fire under control near the ABQ BioPark.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews responded just before 6 a.m. to near Central and New York Avenue where smoke and flames were seen venting through the roof of a building. Crews worked defensively and got the fire under control in 45 minutes.

According to AFR, the building was abandoned and there are no injuries but the building’s structural integrity is compromised as this is not the first time it has caught fire.

Earlier this year, the building was intentionally set on fire and one man was killed. However, the cause of the Monday fire is still unknown.
