ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The International Association of Firefighters Local 244 chapter in Albuquerque is hosting several fundraising events to support its survivors’ fund.

The survivors’ fund supports firefighters stricken with illnesses and unforeseen diagnoses and their families as they juggle costs to treat those conditions.

The first fundraising event is July 21 and is one of four upcoming ‘dine-to-donate’ events being held in partnership with Bubba’s 33 restaurant.

Any time between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., if you present the flyer, 10% of your total food purchases will be donated back to the survivors’ fund. The flyer will be accepted for dine-in and to-go orders.

Other ‘dine-to-donate’ events will also be taking place Aug. 18, Sept. 15 and Oct. 20, each from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The next event is a ‘Spike for Survivors’ sand volleyball tournament, July 23 at Duke City Beaches, 10508 Menaul Blvd. NE in Albuquerque. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. and the tournament starts at 10 a.m. To participate, you can sign up at the event or scan the QR code below.

Another event is the Aug. 5 Swing for Survivors, a golf tournament taking place at Arroyo del Oso Golf Course, 7001 Osuna Rd NE in Albuquerque, beginning with a shotgun start in scramble format at 9 a.m.

There will be multiple prizes awarded for first and second places, the longest drive and a 50/50 putting contest.
