Albuquerque police arrest domestic violence suspect after SWAT standoff

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police arrested a domestic violence suspect after a SWAT standoff at a northeast Albuquerque home.

The standoff ended around 9 a.m. Monday when Albuquerque police were seen taking the suspect into custody. Police say the suspect was wanted on domestic violence charges.

The standoff began around 7 a.m. when police tried to apprehend the suspect, who then barricaded themselves inside the home. At that time, SWAT and crisis negotiators were called to the scene.
