APD: 11-year-old boy killed in shooting near The Pit

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police found a boy dead after a shooting that also left another person critically injured Wednesday night near The Pit.
Around 8:54 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near Avenida Cesar Chavez and University Boulevard.
Officers arrived and found two people shot inside a vehicle in the road west of the intersection.
They found an 11-year-old boy dead and a woman in her 20s who paramedics took to the hospital.
Police are still working to find out if there were multiple shooters. They’re also asking for the public’s help with information.
The area reopened Thursday morning.
