APD arrests 3 of top 25 ‘most wanted’ auto theft suspects

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Police Department say they arrested three people on their new list of top 25 auto theft suspects.

Police arrested 30-year-old Bryan Dennie, 27-year-old Theodore Kinyak, and 39-year-old Daniel Hennessy.

On Thursday, APD detectives reportedly found Dennie as he was allegedly carrying out a drug deal. He tried getting away until a firearm fell on the ground and police arrested him.

Dennie has been charged with receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

APD detectives found Kinyak on Wednesday near Menaul and San Pedro. They reportedly found a silver Honda parked on the street without a license plate.

Detectives say they determined the car was stolen the day before.

They reportedly followed the car until a man parked it.

An officer reportedly apprehended the man, then confirmed the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle had ignition damage but the man, identified as Kinyak, was allegedly not found with a key.

Police charged him with alleged unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and a count of receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle.

On Friday, detectives found Hennessy while walking around an area of the 1900 block of Ladera Drive NW. They then detained him, on suspicion of two counts of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, and arrested him after confirming it.

Police didn’t detail any other auto theft suspects with an arrest warrant on their new “top 25” list.
