ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The man accused of building explosives and then threatening to bring them to a local Walmart faced a judge Thursday.

Investigators say Kelsey Waggoner called police Wednesday, saying he was going to bring his homemade explosives to the Walmart on Eubank, near I-40.

Police later arrested him at that store, but didn’t find any explosives there. Instead, police found three devices at Waggoner’s home. He is now facing a felony charge for possession of an explosive device.

Waggoner will stay in jail until another judge decides if he will be held until trial.
