Pedestrian critically injured in NE Albuquerque crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police are investigating a crash in eastern Albuquerque where a pedestrian was critically injured.

Albuquerque police said the crash occurred at Central and Eubank shortly after noon Tuesday.

According to APD, a man was running in the crosswalk from the south side of Central and ran to the center median, where he stole an umbrella from someone and began running back south. He reportedly ran in front of a gray Dodge truck that was headed eastbound on Central and was struck.

Police said the Dodge truck had a green light.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was taken to UNMH, where they remain in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
