APD seeks recruits for new public transportation safety division

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Albuquerque Police Department is looking for new recruits. Particularly, candidates that can help keep public transportation spots in the city safe.
They’re looking to hire 23 transit safety officers. It’s part of a new division for the department, aimed at stopping crime on city buses and at bus stations.
“We realized that a lot of, you know, incidents are happening around bus stops as I said and people aren’t feeling safe around that,” said APD spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos.
