Crews make quick progress on Las Cocas fire in Mora County

MORA COUNTY, N.M. — A fire started Monday, east of New Mexico Highway 434 near milepost 12 and Guadalupita.

Crews reported the fire at 10% containment and at 75-100 acres in size Monday. As of Wednesday evening, the fire is at 75% containment and estimated to be about 58 acres in size.

Officials said no structures are threatened at this time. They said temperatures will drop Wednesday, but gusts of 60 mph are expected.
