Detention ruling postponed for man accused of beating child

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Albuquerque man accused of child abuse will have to wait until next week to find out if he will get out of jail.
Police say Antwan Menzie beat his six-month-old child in June, resulting in great bodily harm.
Menzie appeared in court via Zoom Friday for his detention hearing, but Judge Jennifer Wernersbach pushed back the ruling because the District Attorney’s Office said they are preparing to show more evidence.
