Eddie Garcia: Monsoon moisture on the way

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — As moisture increases from the south throughout the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop from the Sandia and Manzano mountains northeward to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
A few showers and storms are possible over the Eastern Plains and southwest mountains through early Thursday evening. Any showers or thunderstorms that develop over the northwest third of the state Thursday will likely be on the dry side, with gusty winds and blowing dust the main result.
Daily rounds of afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be possible Friday through the weekend and into next week as the monsoon gets underway quite early.
