ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A lawsuit has been filed against a solar panel company in New Mexico.

According to a new lawsuit, a Sandia Park resident claims NM Solar Group sold him panels for his home just within a couple of weeks of the company closing its doors.

The lawsuit also claims the owner of the company went to the media “boasting” about the company’s success in attracting new customers, while the company was in financial trouble.

The resident from Sandia Park wasn’t the only one the company allegedly ghosted.

KOB 4 spoke with a few customers who shared a similar experience with NM Solar Group. They said the company blindsided them by shutting down and leaving them stuck with some hefty bills, and no panels.

Some customers are calling for a state-regulated division to oversee these types of businesses.

KOB 4 has reached out to NM Solar Group, but we haven’t been able to get in contact with anyone from the business.
