Free movie night events Friday in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Whether you live in the Albuquerque area or Santa Fe, there will be a free movie night in your community Friday.

In Santa Fe, there will be a double-feature movie night at Swan Park. It kicks off with Vivo at 6 p.m. and Elvis at 8 p.m.

The City of Santa Fe says there will be free refreshments but only on a first-come, first-served basis. If you go, bring your blankets and snacks.

At Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque, the summerlong “Movie Mania” series will wrap up with its “School is Cool” triple feature and APS school supplies drive.

Gates open at 6 p.m. Organizers encourage moviegoers to bring donations.

Movies begin at dusk. The movies will be Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Mean Girls and Monsters University.

If you go, they invite you to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and drinks. However, you can’t bring alcohol, glass items, pets or sharp or dangerous items.
