Lockdown lifted, threat cleared at Christus St. Vincent hospital

SANTA FE, N.M. — Police deemed Christus St. Vincent Hospital to be safe after a threat was reported to staff earlier Thursday evening.

Santa Fe police received a report of a possible armed gunman at the hospital around 6:48 p.m. Thursday. Officers were dispatched and arrived at 6:54 p.m.

After officers and hospital staff conducted a thorough check of the entire facility. The facility was deemed safe at 9:20 p.m. with no active, existing threat to the community.

An investigation showed someone unassociated with the hospital called emergency room staff and brought up the threat of an active gunman. Santa Fe police are now looking for the caller as a person of interest in this case.
