New Mexico governor tests positive for COVID-19

SANTA FE, N.M. — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement issued Thursday morning, the governor is reportedly experiencing mild symptoms and is taking the antiviral medicine Paxlovid. She reported being fully vaccinated and twice-boosted for COVID-19.

The governor is isolated at her residence and will continue her schedule remotely.

This is the first time she has tested positive for COVID-19. She previously tested negative Wednesday, August 24.
