ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — This week’s Skilled 4 Work focuses on the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, who wants to spread the word about job training opportunities in the electrical industry.

The electrical industry doesn’t require a college degree. You just have to be 18 years old, be a high school to GED graduate with a passing grade in algebra, have a valid driver’s license and be in good health.

The New Mexico Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee offers paid training opportunities with companies across the state. Positions come with benefits and classroom training. Once you complete the program, you can begin work as an inside journey wireman with access to a membership with the IBEW.
