Special Rail Runner train to run for former Gov. Bill Richardson’s funeral

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Rail Runner Express will run a special train for former Gov. Bill Richardson’s funeral services Thursday.

The funeral service for Richardson will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica St. Francis Assisi in Santa Fe.

The Rail Runner train will leave the Downtown Albuquerque Station at 8:33 a.m. and arrive at the South Capitol Station at 10:07 a.m. The train will also stop at each station in between.

Upon arrival, Santa Fe Trails buses will take passengers to the cathedral for the funeral.

Then, from 1-2 p.m., a reception will take place in the State Capitol Rotunda.

Afterward, at 2:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. each, buses will pick up passengers at the state capitol and take them to the South Capitol Station.

The train will leave the station at 2:52 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., respectively.

The buses will park at the PERA lot on the east side of the state capitol, just off Old Santa Fe Trail.
