ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Black Leadership Council is behind the Uplift Initiative that is launching Tuesday. The goal is to unite Albuquerque’s International District to figure out what resources are necessary.

They are also launching GlammaBibi – a trusted voice for information, played by Regina Taylor.

“This initiative is about setting up a portal for people to find education, have conversations about COVID vaccinations, to voting, to housing stability – how do we approach communities in terms of those issues?” Taylor said.

The council will host an open house at its offices in the International District from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
