VA extends deadline for veterans for PACT Act benefits

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Officials extended the deadline for veterans to claim backdated benefits and expanded healthcare through the PACT Act.
The deadline is now 11:59 p.m. ET/9:59 p.m. MT Monday. You can file your claim or submit your intent to file and be eligible for benefits backdated to August 10.
President Joe Biden signed the PACT Act into law on August 10, 2022. The act provides healthcare to veterans exposed to toxic burn pits while in the military. It covers all illnesses assumed or presumed to be caused by serving.
