Voting now open for NMDOT snowplow naming contest
SANTA FE, N.M. — Voting is now open for you to choose what the New Mexico Department of Transportation will name its snowplows across the state.
NMDOT sought names related to New Mexican culture, wintertime and any other creative ideas. Now, they have 50 finalists you can vote for until January 10 at noon.
You can up to six times for your favorites. Then, after January 10, they’ll announce the top 12 names with the most votes which will be assigned to a snowplow.
What names are in the running?
There are New Mexico-centric names like Snowzobra, Bisc-Snow-Chito, Georgia Sno’Keefe, That’s All Slick, Billy the Skid, Better Call Salt and Walter Whiteout.
There are also wintry names like Snow Big Deal, Snowtorious B.I.G. and Mr. Snow it All – and pop culture-influenced names like Baby Snowda, Scoop Dog and Full Metal Plow.
