SANTA FE, N.M. — Old Man Gloom will sport a new voice and some 1990s fashion as he goes down in flames in front of thousands of attendees at Friday night’s 98th Burning of Zozobra.

William Parnall, a children’s court judge from Albuquerque, will serve as the voice of Zozobra after he was selected out of nearly 60 men, women and children. Two native New Mexicans will also serve as the alternate voices.
