ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A judge sentenced a woman to 30 years in prison for her involvement in a deadly robbery last year.

Brianna Garcia pleaded guilty to charges of murder, robbery and conspiracy in the death of Anjel Varela.

In January 2022, Varela was killed outside of the Skyline Uptown Apartments on Louisiana, near Mountain. Investigators say Garcia and two other suspects planned to rob Varela.

The alleged shooter, Bobby Lopez, is awaiting his trial. The other suspect, Danielle Cordova, pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy last month, court documents indicate.
