Local restaurants donate 100% of profits to families of fallen heroes
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – For one day only, local fundraising group Fundaxi arranged for 10 restaurants across New Mexico to donate 100% of their profits to the Metro 2 Family Relief Fund.
“What we’re doing today is we are supporting the families of the fallen heroes that tragically lost their lives,” said HR and Marketing Director Rebecca Chavez.
Organizers said there is no shortage of places to show support Wednesday.

“It is dine in and carry out only,” Chavez said. “You can visit any of the restaurants throughout the remainder of the day, and they will make sure that your donations are counted towards those final profits that will be given to the families.”
Organizers said supporters can also buy a gift card, in lieu of a meal, or donate directly to the families through the Metro 2 Family Relief Fund.
Chavez said this the community’s opportunity to give back to the four fallen heroes, who dedicated their lives to taking care of others.
“They’ve all provided service to our community members, they’re all heroes to us, and the way that we feel at Fundaxi, our goal is to help our community members, “Chavez said. “So for them being willing to put their lives on the line, every single day, to help us and to be there for our families in our community, it only feels right to give back to their family as well.”
