ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Rio Grande Rivalry is back in Albuquerque Saturday night with the UNM Lobos and the NMSU Aggies set to face off at University Stadium.

Both sides are hoping for a friendly competition after last year’s rivalry turned violent and deadly.

A brawl broke out at last year’s football game in Las Cruces. A month afterward, the chaos continued with a deadly shooting on the UNM campus.

UNM officials say the two schools have been talking to cool things down, and the student sections will be separated at Saturday night’s game.

The game is expected to kick off at 6:00 p.m. at the University Stadium.
