ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It’s official! Bernalillo teen Katie Bone is moving on to the next round of “American Ninja Warrior.”

Katie Bone, 16, is a rock climber who entered Monday night’s show as one of 30 people hoping to make it across the finish line and possibly be crowned the next “American Ninja Warrior.”

In continuing to fulfill a dream that began when she started rock climbing as a little girl, she advanced out of Round 4 of the qualifiers – against the odds too. When she was just 11, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Katie wears her Omnipod and glucose monitor with her and she’s breaking new ground for hopeful athletes who may have her condition.

Katie Bone joined Joy Wang and Steve Stucker in the studio Tuesday morning to discuss her road to “American Ninja Warrior” and what’s next for her as she advances in the competition.
