BCSO: Suspect arrested for Mike’s Place homicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — BCSO says their detectives tracked down a suspect accused of killing a man near a southwest Albuquerque bar in April.

Authorities reportedly arrested 17-year-old Marcos Valdez in Las Cruces. Valdez is behind bars now, facing an open count of murder and awaiting extradition after the arrest Tuesday.

On April 23, deputies responded to Mike’s Place Bar on Isleta Boulevard. According to BCSO, they found a man shot in the parking lot.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Deputies identified him as 26-year-old Vicente Guerra.

Detectives released pictures of a suspect car in May as a part of an “exhaustive investigation” that led to Valdez’s arrest.
